Everything is bigger in Texas: Jamie Dick and the Viva Motorsports No.55 Viva Auto Group Chevrolet team head into the Texas Motor Speedway eager to get back to racing after the first NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) off week of the 2014 season. The fast, high-banked Texas Motor Speedway may be what many consider a "cookie-cutter track", but that is not the case for the El Paso, TX native. This weekend's O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 is the home track for driver Jamie Dick, as well as long time sponsor Viva Auto Group. The event this weekend will be Dick's 40th career start in NNS competition, and his eighth consecutive start in his young career.
Last time out: During the spring 2013 event Jamie Dick started the race from the 31st position, and was able to capture a 25th place finish.
Race Info: The O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway will be held Friday, April 4th with live coverage on ESPN2 starting at 8:00pm ET with radio coverage on PRN/Sirius XM NASCAR Radio Channel 90 at 8:00pm ET.
Jamie's Quotes: "I'm excited to be back racing in Texas. It has the feel of a hometown race since I was born in Texas. We are able to have all the great people from Viva Auto Group come out and enjoy the racing, which adds to the excitement of the weekend. The track itself is fast and wide in the corners but narrows up a lot when you come off the corners, which makes it, a little tricky compared to Atlanta and Charlotte. Turns 1 and 2 has some bumps in the bottom groove which adds to the character of the track and is exciting for the fans."
Chassis Selection: Crew Chief Bill Henderson will be brining chassis VM 55-006 to serve as the primary car. Previously this chassis finished 29th in Las Vegas. The backup car will be chassis VM 55-005, which has yet to be raced this season.
